Avenged Sevenfold just released their first new song in years – here’s how to play it on guitar

At last, Avenged Sevenfold have just dropped Nobody, the first single from their highly anticipated new album, Life Is But A Dream. The new record arrives June 2 via Capitol – the same label which released the Huntington Beach outfit’s last album, 2016’s The Stage – so there’s a few months to wait yet before we heat the rest.

But in the meantime, I’ve just created a POV guitar lesson showcasing how to play Nobody’s monstrous main riff. This one is super simple, mainly centering around a bend-and-release octave line. Check it out above, and if you need a reminder of the track itself, watch that below.

If you’re a beginner guitarist looking to kickstart your musical journey, I’ve just launched a brand-new online guitar school, The Sightline Guitar Academy.

Under this new school, I’ve launched a comprehensive guitar course for beginners, showcasing all the essential techniques you’ll need to get started with rock and metal music, from a POV perspective. This means you’ll be able to see exactly how your fingers and hands should look as you play, dramatically decreasing the amount of time it takes to learn them.
